three-moon-sky (lament : threat | promise)

by Richard Paez

three-moon-sky
(lament : threat | promise)

{dedicated to the unreachable}

            |
Luna-
            |
            | this is my burning question:
            |
moth
            | like a butterfly
            | with the weight
            | of a Venus,
            |
I
            | know
            | my fingerprints
will
            | pull off dust -
ruin
            | your wings -
            | but I must
            | reach out
            |
            | - fulfill
            | this need -
            |
            | because
            | I am drawn
            | to
your
            | wings
            | as you
            | are drawn
            | to the gleaming
flame
            |

Both 'threat' and 'promise' a sad light shining on the destructive tendency of human nature. That's what I understood from this. Truly a lament, a heavy hearted confession even. Very well done Richard, left side, right side, both together...very well written.

One question though...who are the 'unreachable'? I tend to think of them as the common 'mob'...I am interested in your intention...

Hmmm...I am thinking this might even be about 'discovery' and the curiousity of man...the urgent need to toy with and try to understand anything and everything...hmmm....many layers to this...

quite compelling Richard

Explosively terse, and would make an interesting song - with the left side being the chorus.

Oh I love this! I just want to surround it with the photos of butterflies and hang it on a wall....
