To Slay The Lamb by Ken HarnischIn the gossamer light
We sought the flame
Once at the fireside, I kissed you
And once kissed
I loved you.
Once loved, you
Wondered if I was real
And once you dreamed,
You dreamt the nightmares too
Now we stammer
Through the maze of shadows
Pulling scalpels through the crumbs
Wondering what nuances
Lie in words
That to ears parched for love
Would have been taken
As naught but pure
But
We are beasts of the intellect
So in love with the game
We have forgotten how it is played
With only trusting hearts
Now we commune in this
Unholy peace
Flashing razored knives
At every slight
Oh so eagerly
Doing our damndest

Posted by Melissa Arel on 09/17/04 at 12:32 PM Dark and very introspective.. Sad, yet brutally honest. Good work :) |
Posted by Kate Demeree on 09/20/04 at 05:01 PM I like the introspective feel of this, and would argue... to write it, to ask it.... would indicate, it is still a possability. There are so many great lines in this Ken... "We have forgotten how it is play
With only trusting hearts".... I love this part.... Never forget Ken, Never. *soft smile* okay so I am yet a dreamer... but trusting hearts, do exist... (and yeah I know my spelling still sucks *laugh*)
