Un-Corked

by Kate Demeree

What happened to the laughter?

The pure joy of stringing words together

To form a thought

Describe a scene

Draw a picture

When did it change?

Why

There was satisfaction

In placing those small

Offerings upon the pristine page

Now…

Now…

Much thought has to be given

As to what am I saying

Why

How

Who am I saying it to?

Well I’m through

Do you hear me????

I’m done with thinking about what I am saying

And to who

I am saying it to you!!

Hello!

I am taking back my love of the word

If what I say offends or shocks you

So be it

It is speak and say what I have to…

Saying a thing for the joy of saying it…

Yes I have cried with you

Held you in my arms

And lain in yours

Made love with you

Fought with you

And everything in-between

And yes….

I LOVE YOU…

Seems that is the thing most people have trouble with

Now that is out of the way….

Perhaps...

There is nothing I can not say~!

Good read Kate. I understand the frustration of having to walk on eggshells in fear of saying the wrong thing. At least tht'a the way I read this.
