The Ultimate Reality

by Bruce W Niedt

In my dream, I was stranded
on a desert island, forced to share a house with
ten twenty-somethings, a dozen bachelorettes,
four wife swappers, an Amish girl, and Anna Nicole Smith.

The only way to get out was to sing
Whitney Houston songs better than the rest.
We bickered for weeks, then the cops broke down our door,
and told me I’d passed the test.

I won cosmetic surgery,
a new wardrobe picked by five gay men,
dinner with the Osbornes,
and a redecorated den.

(Second prize: two dinners with the Osbornes.)

Wow!
What a reality!
I was so disappointed to wake
to my humdrum, boring fantasy.

Witty Mr. Neidt witty. I wouldn't mind the prizes you won, but my God! what you had to endure to win them. :o)

This is a classic take on the blue light special. Kinda like looking at humanity through a kaleidoscope. Humorous Poem of the Year Award for this one, Bruce...pe4ce
