Killing Time As A Cartographer

by Anne Engelen

Heartstrings tied together

Two into one

Miles no longer matter

Destiny has won

Love is omnipresent

Felt in ev’ry cell

No longer a single heartbeat

But yours as well

Time, please be my friend

While I fill distance’s gap

With drawing memories

Onto destiny’s map

Anne, this has my vote for 1,000 stars. It's beautiful and I love the whole poem, but the 3rd stanza speaks to me in a special way.

I really like your metaphor here, great image, and so right to the point... very nice, sweetie! - RCat

Did you use the Mercator's Projection? A question only a real-live cartographer would ask. There's probably one of everybody on this sight. Notice the poem's almost a year old. Hope the geography of your love is still true North. Remember, any map (the depiction of a three-dimensional object on a two dimensional surface) necessarily involves distortion.
