Genuine Imitations

by Amanda L Marron

You are consumed with worries
That I don’t understand
But still I’ll try to give you advice
Try and comprehend how she may feel
Think back to when it was the 4 of us
When she saw how you were with me
Maybe it’s strange for her
Maybe she has never viewed you in that way until now
I know how you are
I get how your mind works
So I’m not going to get upset
You’re leaving soon to go half way around the world
You need to be held
Feel comfort in the arms around you
Though I still wish it was my embrace
You were longing for

WOW! Quite the build up to a killer closing. So subtle and yet so clear the message. Well done! Adds to favorites.

I agree. Great close. I like the mixture of sadness and duty to a friend.
