Prism

by Traci Mabats

I reached down
for something deep
and meaningfull
But only found
some lint in my pocket
I wish I could see the world
the way that you do
Your kaleidoscope view
The way
you break down
the light
The weight of
your careless words
reduce me to a shimmer
You take a slow drag
of your ciggarete
as you watch me
fade away
