I Didn't Have To Deal With That

by Charles J Hannan

Can you see the limping dog
Who has no home
Still wandering

Will you look at smoking trees
And see the trunk
Still smoldering

Open ears do hear the cries
Of politicians golden lies
Blaming one for dodging war
Did you earn the medals worn?

My television is off now
And silent night approaches
I hear a faint yelping
A dog who has no home

I shut my window closed
From odor of burning trees
Crawl into bed and forget
The forest was on fire

Close my eyes and think
What a wonderful place this is
I didn't have to deal with that

America the beautiful

Witty expression, leaving me with a big smile. OH if life were only that simple. Well done sir!

Greatfulness what a lovely virtue. Nicely painted.
