A girl undone

by Traci Mabats

It's been two long years now
what do we have to show for it
Another dead end road
I feel caught between
these two worlds
I can't seem to be enough
And all I wanted
was just one love story
to call my own
to cherish
to look back on
when times were tough
A simple memory
to keep me warm
when it was cold
But you left me here
A girl undone
without anything
but fading whispers
of everything
that I wanted this to be

"But you left me here A girl undone without anything but fading whispers of everything that I wanted this to be" - this is so lovely Sharona, thoughtful and so sad, yet full of hope somehow I think. Perhaps it's the sensitivity of the poet that emits this vibration of hope...yes, I feel it in your soft expression and plea for love. Very nicely done :-)

"and all i wanted was just one love story to call my own" such an achingly beautiful piece.

Those whispers are poor substitutes for real memmories. Superb word choice that really demonstrate feelings of disappointment and regret.

This shows a new cast of light on an all too commomly felt emotion. Fresh...& alive with feeling. :)
