What It Is, Is Your Only Fear Came True (She Can't See You) by J. P. DaviesBeyond the fact that you enjoy the feel of concrete under your toes, could you ever tell me just how it feels to connect with a stone.
A stone is left behind, silent and un-nerving, staring deep into holes left by it's animate counterpart. Sweeping gazes across faces that bleed words in vain.
Apologies for the resurfacing of this but my scars started to bleed last night and they reminded me of you. So I'm left with this rock, that once yielded feelings and reciprocated love.
A cold hard-stone-heart once beat here but all has ceased its coronary lub-dubbing.
"Hello, Stone." {It's been cold for so long. Do you remember?} 08/14/2004 Author's Note: I hate crying at night. But that's the only time I cry.

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 08/15/04 at 12:49 PM Worthy strong communication here J.P. A couple of suggestions though about the third stanza. Seeing as you start off talking to the second person (you); the girl I assume, then it would sound better if you continued in that mode by changing the her in line four to you. The last line in the same stanza: back to me isn't necessary as the words reciprocated love already say this. Otherwise, very well written. Your choice of words, and thus tone...mood make it easy for the reader to empathize with you. |
