My Constant One

by Melissa Arel

The silence of my soul toils for peace
As I falter and stagger wickedly
Through the garden of my heart, choked by weeds
Consuming my thoughts and visions of release

My pain covers me like a cloak of black night
The flesh struggles to break free and fight
But Your grace comes to me by the morning light
You calm the tempests that ensue my life

Be still my dreams, and listen tenderly
For I long to kiss the mouth that soothes me
He is my source of hope, my constant One
He is Jesus - God's one begotten Son.

That's as pure as it gets. He is beautiful in you.
