Voice

by Richard Vince

Why am I afraid to write?
Afraid of what I might read?
All I do is question myself
Maybe I am afraid of answers...

So I hide behind my questions
Speak...never listen
Shout so loud I can't hear
Anything but my own voice...

Because all I am is a voice
Shouting in the desert

And my words are my blood
And my opinions are my water
Blood is thicker than water...
Opinions are thicker than words?
Are words made of opinions?
Or opinions of words?

I am just a voice with a view
A view I cannot escape
And as I am just a voice...
I SHOUT...
Because a silent voice is no voice at all.

I used to be a strength...
A force, a spirit, a soul...
But all that remains is a voice

And a view.

Thought provoking, well presented slice of introspection Vince. Found myself easily relating. Kudos!
