I Will See You Again

by Ken Harnisch

I am not blessed with certainty

Of any sort; too much is gray

To make an avowal that is absolute

But this I know, and can loudly say

That fleeting vision you had of me

On a blustery, pewter afternoon

Will not be your last, or mine of you

And though I can’t promise it will be soon

I may, as apparitions some times do

Reappear one evening when you least expect

The sight of ghosts or long-gone friends

And then I hope you resurrect

That sweet embrace you gave me then

The one I long to feel again

mmmmmm, this has an ethereal, fairytale quality, wistful, yet a smidge of hope.
