Amanda Said

by Amy Wustrin

Amanda said she saw you
While she was sitting in traffic
Crossing the Tappan Zee Bridge

She said you kept each other
Entertained
During the treachery of stop-and-go

Amanda said you seem to have
Your shit together (finally)
You don't smoke pot anymore
And you work across the river
You're still seeing that girl
And you drive a Trans Am

I wanted to be happy for you
I really did

But when I asked her
Amanda said you didn't even ask
How I was

So I asked her another question
And guess what?

Amanda said she doesn't think
I'm a bad person
For wishing your life was shit.

*That's* how I'm doing
In case you ever wonder

I hate it when they don't ask how your doing especially when your every third thought is wondering how they are doing...
