Author's Note: Feeling particularly grateful for living this long and being able to overflow the Creator through the portals of my work and my love, Helen... [Magnificat is the title commonly given to the Latin text and vernacular translation of the Canticle (or Song) of Mary. It is the opening word of the Vulgate text (Luke, i, 46-55): "Magnificat anima mea, Dominum", (My soul doth magnify the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my savior."]

| Posted by Maureen Glaude on 06/21/04 at 01:06 PM The reverance here to the Higher Power, and to the woman, and to life, really, is vivid and awesome (in the old sense of that term) and I also see an erotic metaphor with the vessel etc.
I think in the sense that man-woman love can be a representative of high worship of God, etc. very beautiful, and that title, I'm green from that. Wish I'd thought of it. Is it a real word? I'm sure it is, if not it should be. |
