Sucking on reality by Laura DoomBeneath the arch that spans
a microcosmic lapse of time
I've been captivated, mesmerised;
a hostage to delusion
I negotiate extrication
from barbed wire balls
that decorate the fence
demanding my straddle.
Strategic withdrawal
by cerebral vacation
spent in emotional conflict;
a clash of symbols splits
the occupied territory
of a guilty conscience.
As expected,
what passes for the real world
proves to be infinitely more transient
than anticipated.
It used to be so easy
playing 'totally fucked up'
to avoid the need to deal
with the balance of life.
If only I could salvage
what I knew for certain then
I'd change it all around
and make the same mistakes again.
To reciprocate the suck of reality
that thrives on divided loyalties
in this love-hate relationship
is to indulge myself either way. 06/20/2004 Posted on 06/20/2004 Copyright © 2024 Laura Doom

Posted by Ashok Sharda on 08/07/04 at 04:43 PM The conflict is evident between 'yes' and 'no'. The line is too thin. Well, if one has crossed over to this side one can with conscious effort cross back. But what if one keeps on crossing over from one to the other? But what if one keeps on thinking with the 'emotional energies'? Well, the end result is always a conflict. This piece of your presents this conflict 'not so subjectively'. |
