Posted by Rula Shin on 06/18/04 at 06:12 PM Oh WONDERFUL! Yes, and the title is lovely though I sense this 'perfume' is more of a natural scent than one bought in any store...the scent of each of us does seem to transmit, somehow, a part of one's 'essence'. The association of smell is a powerful one that, as you eloquently show, can bring one companion to the other...bring both together "where you already ARE" - beautiful Anne :-)

Posted by Paganini Jones on 06/22/04 at 09:19 PM Ah how very true. And the single waft of that scent 40 years on puts you back in exactly the same place. Such a poweful sense that is often ignored or overlooked. |

Posted by Alison McKenzie on 06/26/04 at 11:05 PM It's amazing, the way the sense of smell can actually transport the mind to other places and times. It makes me wonder about the science of it, how fragrance blends with spirit and causes that tangible shift in existence. You've captured that in such a short but totally effective description!!! It leaves me breathless. |

Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 11/30/05 at 07:26 AM amazing how one of our five senses can take our entire self to one place. a signature cologne or perfume can sometimes be the biggest killer after a breakup, or the sweetest reminder when that special one isn't around. a lovely thing to write about...i'm impressed. my nose is itching for some Diesel Green (the best perfume EVER ;). fabulous write. |
