Lime n aid

by Mary Ellen Smith

Sweet this taste
Pure sublime,
Not the lemon
But the lime.

Sugared sure
Sipped in shade,
A perfect day
For lime n aid.

Sun’s so hot
Flowers wilt,
Another bunch
That I have ‘kilt’.

Gardening’s good
Watering’s fine,
But I’d rather be sippin
Something lime!

Cute! I'll take a large glass please. Nice reminder of when as a kid, my friends and me sold Kool Aid or Freshie for a nickel a glass.
