only an answer

by Paganini Jones

the day she left
he threw out the typewriter
declaring
it wrote only lies
that truth
was too terrible
for its clacking keys
that anyhow
his Muse was just daydreams
that Tunisia
was dust and beggars
that the honeymoon
was over
the divorce
yet to begin
and

that
silence
was only an answer

and what an answer! so! they would think to quell our voices by tossing the old typewriter ( full of lies ) away. well I've got news for one,-----typewriter or no typewriter, will dissever, no not a guillotine, the words or the images in us that will speak such powerful utterances, have their say with with or without us.

The images in the poems and on the web fit together so well. A favourite. Sadly sometimes silence is the only answer but is any problem beyond words?
