Waking Up Resurfaced

by J. P. Davies

Did it begin with an ending,
or end with a beginning?
Did you ever ask youself
if tomorrow was worth the wait?

Well I've pushed past the walls
that border worlds inside my skull
and found the outside brighter.

Did it start in the middle,
or end before the start?
Did you ever wonder if today
would be the one.

When you pull down the walls
that you've built around your heart,
and find the weight is lighter.

Well I've tried to show you,
but now I'm gonna let you see.
That there's a whole world out here,
so just let yourself be free.

Break down your walls,
hear a life that calls
from beyond your window pane.

There's nothing left,
but to catch your breath
and see all that you have gained.

Did it begin when you saw the ending
wasn't required anymore?
Did it end when the beginning came
and picked you back off the floor?

Well you've cast of the pall
that your built around your eyes,
and found out that you're a fighter.

Open your eyes,
to the light you couldn't see.
Close your eyes,
to the place where you used to be.

Break down your walls,
hear a life that calls
from beyond your window pane.

There's nothing left,
but to catch your breath
and see all that you have gained.

Catchy construction, thought provoking message that applies to more than the post-suicidal. Here's to new beginnings, no matter the walk and talk of life!

You're always branching out. one can never really guess what your muse will be next. This is stirring. I like it alot.

Definitely lyrical, in fact Beatlesque in its catchy, profoundness. Another piece I'm glad I reread.
