Fairy Tales Can Be True

by Anne Engelen

Half way through

Reading

The book of life

After

Perfoming a small part in

The play of the same name

I now believe

In fairy-tales

Again

The modern ones

Deprived

Of the old fashion

Happy ending

'The modern ones Deprived Of the old fashion Happy ending' yes, these are modern days with so much of technological evolution but at the cost of that old fashion endings. haha You presented this scene so distinctly.

Sigh. I know. Damn our idealism and the reality of it all...! I can really understand and relate to this poem!

the happiness to all tales, great and small is that they have endings, no thanks to deadlines but to another time and less cruel.

The ending of a life is never happy, it is what happens until then that makes living worthwhile. Good poem Annie

Oh dear :(
But then, going back to the originals many didn'tb have those happy endings at all so perhaps you are going back to the real endings!

so many comments, i feel silly adding mine! but it's simple, and well-worded. i might consider a more striking ending - but i do like it a lot, as it. thanks!
