my friend the fly

by Lisa-Dawn Sparling

He spins a web around her and locks her in.

She fights at first but then gives in.

She starts to enjoy watching him,

And thinks he must love her,

He hasn’t eaten her….. yet.

She forgets what it was like in her world,

She forgets how it feels to fly,

Lured into false security,

She isn’t lonely any more and besides,

He hasn’t eaten her…… yet.

She never questions what happened to the others,

Or thinks about the bits of wings and legs,

They are now part of the scenery,

He must think she’s better than the others,

Because he hasn’t eaten her…..yet.

LOL! Reminds me of that old horror movie the fly, where Vincent Price's head ends up on the body of a fly and vice versa, then he gets caught in a spider's web.
