Uncluttered

by Amy Wustrin

I'd love to live a life

Uncluttered by punctuation

~Period, an end justified by its means.

Hesistation in every comma,

Regret in the ellipsis

Of every unfinished ...

The question marks in my eyes

For the questions you never answer truthfully

And your parenthetical commentary

Which I should(n't) always trust

And, yes,

I should like to keep

The abrupt excitement

Of the million exclamation points

That was our first kiss

But don't quote me on that

I have known a few like that. They always seem to - dash off, always presenting themselves as the : colon. Bravo. I loved this. :)
