Twice A Day, Every Day

by Amy Wustrin

Twice a day, every day

I look at the nearest digital clock

Whether I want to know the time or not

And there it is

The time like the date

In my face

In my ears

I celebrate the anniversary

Every 12 hours

It haunts me

It haunts us all

It's everywhere I turn

I am bombarded

I will never forget

I can't

I'm reminded,

Indeed, like clockwork

Like time stands still

In a moment of silence

Twice a day, every day

At 9:11, Daylight Savings Time
