Sound And Fury

by Amy Wustrin

The unpredictable nature

Of a sudden thunder storm in 80 degree weather

And my predictable response to want

To listen to a mix CD

And watch God

Unleash his bounty on the free world

Are a bad combination

When I've got work to finish.

The crashes of thunder

And flashes of lightning

Would scare me awake in the night

But it's 6:21 PM on the east coast

And it's bright as hell outside

And the sound is lulling me to sleep.

What a gorgeous display

Of the power of heaven

I am drenched in gratitude

For the right to life the rain affords us.

RUMBLE, RUMBLE, FLASH!!

And the downpour intensifies

Five minute's later,

God gives us back the sun.

The wonders never cease.

Amid the misery and uncertainty

Of these troubling times

He will still give us reason to rejoice!

i love the images that this piece emits... there is much beauty in this world, despite the pain... you have captured that well... blessings...

Ah yes, aren't thunder storms absolutely amazing. The beauty and power of them you capture here quite well.
