Dry Campus

by Amy Wustrin

I can't smoke pot in my dorm room

(I learned that the hard way)

But I can stay up all night with insomnia

They're OK with that

And I can walk around listless

And ready to cry all the time

As long as I'm not high.

If I want to feel better, I can take

A Paxil, or a Prozac

Like everybody else

I can toss and turn and be lost

And feel hopeless and homesick

(Home is where my bong rests)

But I can't smoke pot

And go to bed happy

Whoever said we live in a "feel-good society"

Never went to MY college
