The Miss

by Maureen Glaude

a slip of cloud
steals past the sun
to cloak the basking earth
in a shiver of grey

the opportunity
opaque or vivid
for love
lingers a moment

then floats beyond reach
unseized

cloud shifts to light again

Nifty analogy...well put, but like buses, another cloud is sure to come along.
