Body Language

by Jon-Jacob F Deal

sweaty, sated
limbs all a-tangle
sex-drunk I spoke
like I believed in forever
though by the sentry eyes
in your fortress-heart face
I knew you didn't trust my easy tongue
the ripe words that sounded vinegar
even as they left decanter lips;
oh, the things we say
when our balls are empty
and our hearts are full

Now there is a novel approach. A dichotomy of emotion that lets loose with both barrels. Good stuff, JJ. Pe4ce...

Yes, charged by the energies, refined and powerful.

Short, punchy, quite effective. Dynamite close out in those last two lines. Kudos!

sex-drunk I spoke like I believed in forever...so original, so brutally honest, the way you artfully describe this moment. .
