Still I wait for Spring

by Traci Mabats

I look up at the
grey cloud cover
hiding the sun
from the world
Snowflakes lazily
drift downward
The wind whips
cold and bitter
banging incessantly
against windows
And still I wait
for Spring
perhaps I am
living vicariously
waiting in vain
for my chance
at rejuvenation
for my own flowers
to bloom
sweetly scented
and gentle breezes
to caress my face
to let the bird song
in my heart sing
to the morning sun
Still I wait..
Still

Well, we all wait for the spring for our the flowers to bloom in our gardens in all the meaning of the spring.

OMG Sharona. Are you sure you don't live in Alaska??? Effective expression of weather longing here. Great (powerful) closing also; quite effective repeating the word 'still.'
