they say this is a game of show
not tell;
they say to evoke the senses to
incite vivid imaginationary activity.
i would agree, but

the game show contestant
provides the questions.

however, this vacant lot
broadcasting to the trailer
park across the street
is looking for its new players.

you would walk across a dusty road
the sand
beating your eyes
to submission-
the orange. brown.
the gravel below your feet.
broken windows on a
cracked yellowstriped street
your destination is this

everwide, unfinished road.

your game show is not calling
your name.

it is said to show, not tell.

i have shown, but never seen-
and there are things that i will
never tell.
