Punctual Inspirations

by Maureen Glaude

!

the tip of the leaf
points in goodriddance to
the dejected dewdrop
it has just shed *

.

runaway bead from a pearl necklace

.

the final marble to be sunk
to win the game

.

the black tattoo mark
indelible on my chest
commemorating radiation

;

over a poplar helicopter
a lone bud

,

a fetus in the womb
early stages

__

the broken-off end
of a matchstick

Wonderful poem! Don did an exercise like this in one of the workshops; I just haven't tried it yet. One of the other poets; however, wrote a great poem to the period. That was CaLokie.

Captivating reminder of how inspiration inspires new inspiration, or as Einstein once said, "energy can be neither created or destroyed, only passed from one form to another."
