Punctual Inspirations by Maureen Glaude !
the tip of the leaf
points in goodriddance to
the dejected dewdrop
it has just shed *
.
runaway bead from a pearl necklace
.
the final marble to be sunk
to win the game
.
the black tattoo mark
indelible on my chest
commemorating radiation
;
over a poplar helicopter
a lone bud
,
a fetus in the womb
early stages
__
the broken-off end
of a matchstick

Posted by Michelle Angelini on 04/23/04 at 09:17 PM Wonderful poem! Don did an exercise like this in one of the workshops; I just haven't tried it yet. One of the other poets; however, wrote a great poem to the period. That was CaLokie. |
