Jelly Beans and Ju-Jubes by Maureen Glaudepass around the jelly beans
or ju-jubes
and youll soon encounter
the candy connoisseurs
people who take pride in
their precise predispositions
and expound in lengthy testimonials on
their preferences in these
some strongly prejudiced against
or for the blacks and reds
will pick their way through
to leave the "undesirables"
in a neglected pile, deserted
some will compete for the highest
in their esteem
with the valor of a Knight in Armor
jousting for his Ladys love
and then there are those wholl proclaim
to the provider
hey, these are the real thing
not the poorer imitations
As if!
so when you pass around the jelly beans
or ju-jubes (and sneak a few yourself
or horde a few of your favorites)
be ready for more than
just a flavor outburst

| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 04/10/04 at 01:16 PM Tangly morsel of writing Mo. I've never been much of a candy person, except for chocolate, and nowadays only to satisfy an occasional craving. Thanks though for the morning sweets. |
