anticipation agony by Adrian CalhounHanging on every word,
waiting for the ones I never hear.
Somewhere between the hum-drum and
day to day events, emotion got lost.
Eager ears filter the syllables
for my anxious heart.
Sometimes it is easier to pretend
I heard something, and let it go.
Other times I just cannot listen
another single moment to what I do not hear.
Maybe the reasons to you are not clear,
maybe you do not understand me.
Whatever the case, these words are the only
way I can really communicate with you clearly.
My true feelings and my heart are laid out here
for you to grasp when you are ready.
Until then,
i'll be twisting in the breeze.

Posted by Mary Ellen Smith on 04/09/04 at 09:23 AM Well I really feel the anticipation and the agony in this Adrian. There is impatience here as well, but more than that I think the longsuffering of twisting in the breeze is a sign that things work out here...I like this. |
Posted by Maureen Glaude on 04/10/04 at 02:41 PM wow. what an ending! Those silences, and beats, are painful experiences. Well shown here. |
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 04/11/04 at 02:29 AM Very emotionallament! Perhaps for me the most significant line is the one which includes, "emotion got lost". It takes time and effort to keep emotion in a relationship. |
Posted by Ashok Sharda on 04/12/04 at 05:30 PM Anxious moments after having delivered those words,'these words are the only
way I can really communicate with you clearly.'. What more than to wait and suffer in 'anticipation agony'. Profound.

Thank you for that. :) |
