It Seems So...

by Kate Demeree

It seems so odd not to have you here
When once I thought to create
A life time of memories at your side

Tonight lying beside the cat
In a bed too large
Memories play inside my head

There are more choices each day
New roads to walk
Vistas that open before my eyes

Yet it seems so odd
Not to have you
Here

exactly the feeling when that change occurs, the emptiness after huge dreams. Blessings. (PS but I must admit, cats and dogs are great to wake up with)

A beautiful, heart felt piece of writing Kate - very touching ;)

A beautiful and obvious heartfelt piece. Adrian works 3rd shift, so I awake each morn in a queensize bed with only my cat. I can relate somewhat. Love and Hugs, Michelle PS I am so glad to see a new piece from you. I have truly missed reading :)

how sad and somber toned you paint this and yet I bet that cat, that lays beside you is wondering the same thing,

The heart longs. The association brings to the fore those moments of life 'alive', 'dead' but beautiful since the associations shall never die, while we keep on walking on these new found paths.

I had to come back to this poem, Kate,to say, I am truly sorry for your loss of Tigger, your beloved cat and constant companion.

"in a bed too large" says a lot without actually saying it... if that makes any sense, hehe
