Dancing Upon The Remains

by J. P. Davies

Longingly, you watch me fall
so far down, the plunged cliff
turns black before bottom.

Will you linger on the edge,
and shine down on me?
You, a single star in a
world of darkness.

Or revolving you wander on,
pretending not to hear the screams.

You're still down here,
locked away from daylight.
Resting precariously on my mind,
pushing downward and away.

So my screams are shared,
in the silence you exhude.
While dancing upon the remains,
of all that we were.

Author's Note: I still hate you, when you smile.

a real zinger over the tears with this. Jarring and something I can empathize with.
