don't go, you are needed by Michele Schottelkorbdont go
(please)
it has only just begun
see through the veiled hypocrisy, my friend
to the greater depth of the human essence
they are young
(so very young)
ambition can lead to arrogance
arrogance to foolhardiness
but,
you know the truth
behind the action
within the recesses of the cracks
have pity
for those that choose
not to see
for we once were
where they are now
and with your presence
(in the hope of a dream)
they will be where you stand today
dont go
(please) you are needed

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 03/29/04 at 12:56 PM there isn't a prescious metal sufficient to explain what your dear heart is composed of Michele. To say it is made of gold is somehow deficient. You are certainly a jewel of a human being and even that shiny bauble pales in compare.
Alas, we can't hold back the tides of friendships, they will, where they will, perhaps where they must, though we hold them near and dear. |
Posted by Graeme Fielden on 03/29/04 at 11:12 PM Such a warm and heartfelt plea Michele - it can be so sad when two convergent paths suddenly divert - let's hope it leads to a greater good! ;) |

Posted by Ashok Sharda on 04/02/04 at 07:02 AM Instead of pity whats needed is certain amount of tolerance, patience and a greater understanding that'with your presence
(in the hope of a dream)
they will be where you stand today'. Well, the plea is well pronounced and positive.

Posted by Susan Q Tomas on 04/08/04 at 03:08 PM Wonderful poem. Doesn't it always seem that way, the ones most needed are the ones that feel they must leave? |
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 05/19/05 at 12:15 PM I still love and am affected by this poem this time around and echo, please don't go, please don't go and they would hear this humble plea if only they had not already gone a million miles away from it and me. |
