In search of ABSOLUTE in this endless vastness - 1. by Ashok ShardaIn search of ABSOLUTE in this endless vastness - 1.
Infinite is the universe
And it includes everything.
GOD too.
Between the two distant Galaxies,
That is between
Nine Four Six Zero Eight Zero
Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero
Multiplied by One Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero
Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero
Multiplied by I dont know how many more
There are three million Galaxies
In the so far probed universe.
One is supposed be ours.
And our has One Zero Zero Zero Zero Zero million
Multiplied by I dont know how many more
Stars, planets and Satellites.
One is supposed to be ours.
Earth!
Yes, a speck of dust in this endless vastness.
And venturing on this tiny speck
I point my imaginary binocular in the infinite space
In search of God
Wondering
If HE can ever locate me on this tiny surface.

Posted by Rula Shin on 03/22/04 at 05:36 PM Hmmm...a loaded poem. I love it!! "I point my imaginary binocular in the infinite space
In search of God Wondering If HE can ever locate me on this tiny surface" - Yes the lonely cell tries to communicate with the body as a whole. The whole is too large to see the miniscule parts that make up it's own body. Vast is the gap between them. There are the collective cells. And there are the individual cells. There is a connection of course. But not in any practical way it seems. They function together but with separate awarnessess of the common goal FOR the common goal. PERHAPS Hahaha It's all speculation of course. Subjective reasoning. Mine too :-)

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 03/22/04 at 05:46 PM Yup, we can sometimes feel pretty insignificant when looking at ourselves and the universe in this manner. Thanks for the reminder fellow carbon based lifeform! HAHAHA. |
Posted by Alison McKenzie on 03/23/04 at 01:33 AM And given our comparative size, how is it that we imagine ourselves to have power? Thank you for your heart and your "just for fun" contributions to our world. |
Posted by Michele Schottelkorb on 03/23/04 at 08:13 AM this is definitely a thinking poem... would god, could god find us?... i wonder, as you wonder, for fun... as always, dear dear ashok, you force my brain to swell... blessings... |
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 03/24/04 at 03:12 AM Fun with numbers, especially all those zeros! :) Seriously, isn't it absolutely amazing that God the Creator sees us just where we are. That is called infinite wisdom, knowledge, and love. |

Posted by JD Clay on 03/27/04 at 11:04 PM Perspective poetry, Ashok. To the eye the universe may appear infinate, but to the mind unfathomable. Thank goodness we have faith.
