barbie, the harlot of the modern age.

by Andrew S Adams

welcome to the modern age.
i am right off the
assembly line. i am emotionless
thus, i'm doing just fine.

i am the newest technology,
the model everyone wants-
yet i require some assembly,
and my accessories
are sold seperately.

i have barbie friends.

i am a modern perfection,
at least for your momentary orgasm
of ego-inflation/explosion.
and just as soon as you've used me,
you're lusting over another.

i am barbie.

and what am i, but an abused
machine from the modern age
of twenty minutes ago,
dear god i hope you have a good lawyer,
because this user does not understand
this user does not compute with this computer
and there will be revenge.

i am the anatomically correct ken doll
an anomaly in modern science and
product placement.
thus, there is no use for me.

i am plastic.

This is a sad poem, there is no place for reality on store shelves for what they are trying to sell us is the mystique the image the perfection which changes with the season.
