the NOBODY by Michele SchottelkorbPeople come, people go
(as is the rotation of the world)
there are times where
nothing more is required
these are the times of the NOBODY
think within, think without
look beyond an open door
gaze upon a crystal sphere
leave them there forevermore
People hate, people love
(as is the nature of the world)
there are areas where
nothing more matters
these are the areas where lives the NOBODY
sense through intuition
make choices of clarity
see through jaded facades
shut out negativity
People give, people take
(as is the polarity of the world)
there are scenes where
nothing more can transpire
these scenes are acts of the NOBODY
step on through the other side
rich with ancient prophecies
paint with colours black and white
be rare with no apologies
People live, people die
(as is the finality of the world)
there are times where
nothing more can be done
these are the trivialities of the NOBODY
if you are to smile at me
and turn your back in fear
I must carry on my task
And leave you standing here
People sacrifice, people abuse
(as is the sickness of the world)
there are times where
nothing more can be learned
these times are noteworthy of the NOBODY
if the sun refused to shine
truth would conquer deceit
precious time would poise still
in awe of fallacys defeat
People come, people go
(as is the purpose of the world)
there are times where
nothing more need be said
these are farewells to the NOBODY
in the end you will see
that existence can improve
with a little fortitude
the earth and stars can move
March 15, 200403/15/2004 Author's Note: written after several conversations with my mentor, Ashok Sharda... we have been discussing the importance of making those that hurt us or bring us pain into a NOBODY... this is one in a two part growth series on the NOBODY... in Ashok's words i have tried to "epitomized a NOBODY,
depicting all the basic characteristics of a NOBODY as and when a SOMEBODY is to be declared as NOBODY"... the other poem that will help clarify this lesson in life will depict the process of turning a SOMEBODY into a NOBODY... NOTE** lines 6, 14 and 15 have been altered from their original verbiage with the help of Ashok...

Posted by Ashok Sharda on 03/17/04 at 02:11 PM You have epitomized the basic characteristics of those SOMEBODYS, who in the wake of their incommunicativeness, unaccommodating behavior pattern and negative approach towards others and life in general, ought to be turned into NOBODY'S. These NOBODY'S do have a past in our pasts, which, obviously, have associations without as well within, with the thoughts, with objects, things. They survive on these associations and keep on hurting us. These NOBODY'S, for all practical purposes, are like ANYBODY in a bus or living in the 10th street.. These unresponsive, insensitive SOMEBODY'S ought to be recognized as NOBODY'S. All the doors opening through our hearts and mind are to be shut off completely.
This is a thinking poem, Michele, maintaining its rhythm, its flow, its meaning in profoundness, its message. I wish if you can write a piece elucidating the process of turning a SOMEBODY into a NOBODY. NOBODY'S are a pitiable lot. I wish you all the best. |
