Not This One

by Maureen Glaude

A chickadee flies down from her nest
to try for a tempting moth
who barely escapes her beak
she gets over it fast and
flies home to hunger for the future

A kind of parable here. A fresh way of saying, "you can't win them all." Or "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." Or don't look back at failure but look ahead for success. Succinct and expressive.

In metaphor, definitely a lesson for all here that can be applied to many different sides of human nature and experience.
