and so I ask of you...

by Quinlan L Gibson

My lover, I have found another place that I must go
itÂ’s deep inside, and it wonÂ’t hide from things that I donÂ’t know.
You gave the word and all I heard was not to run this time
This life is mine and what I make it, I can take it, IÂ’ve grown strong.
Bring it on, the confirmation that I finally go headstrong
into new worlds and through new thoughts, the end result
will pay the cost of the manicure IÂ’ll need to rid my nails of all the dirt.
This will get ugly, but just kiss me and then hand me back my book.
Hold me when I want to cry, as some concepts will fly by
and send me lost within the crowd yet trapped inside my head.
Reassure me I can do it; I will need to hear it said
and from your lips itÂ’s just like gold and IÂ’ll hold on...

'from your lips it’s just like gold and I’ll hold on...' this speaks of the most beautiful and positive relationship, we all long for.

Occassional refreshing breaths of open heartedness such as this do us all good. Thanks for posting this Quin.

I know you Quinlan, and in high school you were an excellent student. You will do fine in college.
