A terrible thing,
to be ordinary.
The would-be footnote--
someone everyone's heard of
but never wants to know.
The better days
were never as good as they seemed
overshadowed by mediocre.
Yeah, I want to show 'em--
the whole world what I'm made of,
but nobody cares.
Holy me.
Carrying my cross.
And that's been done better, too.

oh, this is almost like a twist on that poem about how its dready to be somebody. I like the ending.
