Fake It

by J. P. Davies

Thanks to you for waiting so long
To reveal your brash designs
One thousand clever expletives
said one thousand times
A clever horror story here
where this all ends in tears
to stain your pillow salted
with flesh remembered fears
I said I'd never hurt you,
those words now drip with ice
I have sadly not perfected
this new heart-break device

Just don't think I can make it,
I'll sew wounds shut and fake it.

Love this piece for its dark tone and construction. Kinda reminds me of early Peter Gabriel. Thanks also for your enthusiastic response to my House Of Usher.
