Ashes by Amy NiggelThe deep smoldering
that you always seem to have about you.
That passion that draws me to you
not firey
but subdued
something below the surface
that remains unseen
till you choose to show it.
I press my lips to yours
and feel the heat beneath that cool exterior.
I stare into smokey eyes
and find myself lost in the slow burning.
The dangers of fire seem pale
to cold that insues without it.
I do not fear the flames,
I'd gladly burn to ashes
so long as you're the fire that takes me there. 02/04/2004
Author's Note: not really where it was headed when it started but I wanted so badly to use the word smoldering so yeah I got to use it in this one so that makes me happy at least
