indifference. by Andrew S Adams i believe in the infinite nature of heartbreak;
i know that in truth there might not be an end
to this long
drawn out
long gone romance
and i believe that lies are
only the things we find to be untrue
that said, i dont think i've
ever lied to you-
because you havent questioned
too much of what i say.
and this may just be another version
of the truth i've told before;
but, whatever. you and i
we'll always have some lie to
contemplate and apathize to;
indifference might make it the truth.

Posted by Maureen Glaude on 02/02/04 at 12:58 PM I think out of hurt in break-ups that are long and painful, the imagination and a sense of self-protection makes us over-suspect the other person sometimes. In compensation. A good poem, there's nothing like a beautiful goodbye as opposed to a bitter one. Celebrating the better moments. But it's probably a rare thing. |
