paradoxia

by Andrew S Adams

a featherweight sweatshirt is
hardly a jacket. but then again,
this winter air isn't nearly as cold as it could be-
so, i guess we both have an argument.

there is a slight embrace in your eyes,
and i'm not in need. nonetheless, i return the thought-
because you and i are both too cold to be cold
to eachother- yet this is not out of nesessity that
wrap my arms around your world. this is out of
greed. attachment. love.

the choppyness of the last line makes it extremely powerful. very staccato. keep that, i say. see ya tomorrow!!
