the move by Angela Thomaswe both sat there,
stoned on the couch,
the health channel
going on the TV.
your hands looked big
and rough, full of stories.
they were working hands.
i noticed your smile,
and then, your lips.
on the TV, they removed
the tumor from a lady.
i removed my hand,
placed it on the couch
dangerously close to your
personal space.
the smooth talking
announcer from the show
explained that this
move was groundbreaking.
your hands felt just like
warm crumpled paper,
soft but familiar.

| Posted by Agnes Eva on 01/26/04 at 05:32 AM oooh nice! I love how you merge the subtleties of the tv show with what's going on in the real couch scene. Makes me remember my past beginning of romance moments, where hands were the first thing that touches... |
