all roads lead to the river

by Kimberly Bare

the river calms me
quieting the chaotic solitude
with its flowing stillness
contradictory as i, remaining
within serenity

the river cleanses me
lapping my transgressions
as the ripples to the shore
creating shadows in my darkness,
convincing me of light

the river beckons me
reaching in its transitory rhythm
to the recesses of my soul
nothing lasts forever, yet
always to endure

chaotic solitude. i wonder how that feels.... for me, the poem is "perfect" as it is. =)
