Cigarette Burns

by Max Bouillet

Today I found
cigarette burns on the picture
I gave you.
Twisted bubbles warping
unknowing flesh.
In the picture, I'm still smiling,
but I have forgotten why...

maybe that's why
today I found
cigarette burns on my picture.

ooo... i read deep into this poem and find a sort of 'stabbing in the back' type feeling... small and packed with incredible power... compelling sad excellent piece... blessings...

"I'm still smiling, but I have forgotten why..."...time does funny things if it goes on long enough...

nice round way of making your point... suggests a rather voodoo-like scene

I wanted to laugh at the lines In the picture, I'm still smiling, but I have forgotten why... but I couldn't. Just a little too close to home. Exceptional piece.

Starkly real in shock value as usual, Max. I think I remember why you were smiling, only I don't think it will help to go back there now.
