I Need A Knowledge I.V. Drip...STAT

by J. P. Davies

I reap the benefits of your words.
When you speak and type answers
to questions I am ever asking.
Youth is a quest to tomorrow,
seeking all answers at once.
I am a sponge trying to absorb
the ocean into my being.
Thirsting, but never quenching,
for the knowledge
that is available. But is too
bountiful for my absolute
comprehension.

So force-feed me teaspoons
of Medicated Inquisitorial Oils.
I can digest these only
a morsel at a time.
In bite-size portions I'll
attempt to swallow the dreams
of others minds.
Slowly satiating an appetite
that has been gnawing in my guts
for eighteen years.
I'm still so hungry.
Feed me more.

God, have I ever mentioned that you get these "brilliant streaks" with poetry where everything that comes out of your head seems to be gold?

Excellent poem on a quest for life's treasures and learning.Let me let you in on a secret= that quest never stops even into you older years. Wonderful poem.

Heh heh...great title man, and topic so reflective of our highly automated knowledge driven society. Adds new meaning to the acronym TMI (Too Much Information).
